WE’RE BACK ON THE ROAD!

Bringing fun STEM opportunities to communities in Manitoba! Find details below!

week-long day camps full of messy and interactive STEM!

Our summer day camps let kids ages 9-12 in on an exciting world of discovery and innovation. Participants will explore science, technology, or engineering topics each day of the week through a multitude of hands-on projects and activities. Camps include indoor and outdoor components, and incorporate everything from physical activity to creative design challenges, to digital technology.

Each year we develop a new set of STEM theme days for our Kid-Netic Energy STEM camp and bring them to locations across Manitoba! Find out when we'll be in your town and register for STEM Camp below!

2025 CAMP THEME DAYS

  • Explore the many wonders of space. What would it feel like to be an astronaut? How are we learning more about Mars? How do we know what is going on in space from way down on Earth? Answer these questions plus create telescopes, sundials, and launch bottle rockets!

Students will explore different aspects of space by learning about what it takes to venture out into space! By designing and constructing space suits, building and launching rockets, looking through hand-made telescopes, and learning about the different planets and constellations in our solar system.

  • Be a doctor for the day! Campers will build working models of their lungs and arms to demonstrate just a couple of the many processes that take place in the human body. They will also get to experiment with their reflexes, make stethoscopes, and discover some of the science surrounding medicine.

  • What does sustainable energy mean and what is a carbon footprint? Use the power of the sun and wind to get work done, by making solar distillers, solar ovens and wind turbines. Test your knowledge on energy conservation and learn how we generate energy right here in Manitoba.

Kiddies will discover the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy sources through a variety of interactive activities. Students will further explore wind energy by using anemometers to test for optimal wind speeds and then build and code windmills!

  • Have you ever wondered what makes you who you are? Campers will find the answer through fun and interactive activities. Students will make a model of DNA and even get to see real DNA from a banana!  Students will learn about the variations in DNA that make them unique, and how those variations can be used to design monsters!

  • Discover the ins and outs of mining! Participate in a Toaster Mining Marathon, design a mine shaft rescue, and see how profitable you can make your chocolate chip cookie. These and many more exciting challenges coming your way on mining day!

Students will get to see and touch a variety of minerals found around the world, learn about how the mining process works, and discover how minerals are found in everyday house items by adventuring on the toaster mineral marathon scavenger hunt! Students will learn about some of the dangers to mining, by taking part in a mine shaft rescue mission, learning about gold leaching alternative methods, and acid mine tailings.
