Welcome to WISE Kid-Netic Energy!

Founded in 1990, WISE Kid-Netic Energy is the largest community outreach program offered by the University of Manitoba.  Our primary support is from the Faculty of Engineering.

WISE Kid-Netic Energy is a non-profit organization that offers hands on, curriculum based science, engineering and technology deliverables for youth in Kindergarten through grade 12.  Use the navigation bar at the top of the page to learn more about our program and how you can get involved!

Adopt-a-Class Crowdfunding

This year, we have launched our first-ever crowdfunding campaign for our Adopt-a-Class program

The Adopt-A-Class program is a way for us to bring STEM workshops to certain schools for free. While we normally charge schools a small nominal fee for our services, we wanted to make sure that our workshops would be accessible to schools with greater financial barriers.

With every $50 donation to our crowdfunding campaing, we will be able to provide one free workshop! Our goal is to be able to deliver 100 free workshops this year.

2019-2020 Workshop Catalogue Available!

Check out the changes to this year's catalogue! We have made several improvements to our workshops that we hope you love. We have overhauled our Kindergarten workshop, and renamed it Leaf It to Us!. We have divided Manitoba Safari into two options: one that is fauna-focused, and one that is flora-focused. In Science of Sound besides making a gramophone with littleBits, the students will also make kazoos, and Rocks and Minerals now contains a Jeopardy-like game.

Plus we have received more CanCode funding via Actua, so we still have six FREE workshops available!
